My name is Emily Wolstenholme and I am 10 years old. Right now there are 2 boys in my school battling brain cancer and one of them is my really good friend Aiden, he is only 8. Also, my Oma lost one of her daughters to Leukaemia over 20 years ago, an aunt I never got to meet and a child my Oma misses every day. Kathrina was just 13 years old. This makes me want to help.
Only 5% of cancer research dollars goes to childhood cancer yet there are cancers that mainly children get. Right now 1 in 5 kids won't survive.
I am fundraising for Childhood Cancer Canada (CCC) and would love to be able to count on your help to increase life saving research.
Let's create more victories for all the kids battling cancer in Canada.
Shave for a Cure is a yearly event run by medicine students to fundraise and raise awareness for childhood cancer.
Shaving my hair is a big deal for me and I know some of the boys in my school will make fun of me but finding a cure and saving children makes it worth it.
My dream fundraising goal is $2000, that would be amazing.
