Ashlynne is 13 years old and in grade 8.   She is very active with school and enjoys spending time with her friends.  She is also a competitive baton twirler and a cancer survivor.  When Ashlynne was only 4 ½ she was diagnosed with a form of kidney cancer called Wilms Tumor.  Unfortunately,  her uncle passed away from Wilms 17 years before she was born so the world of childhood cancer was not new to Ashlynne’s family.  Ashlynne never let cancer stop her.  The tumor was found during the summer between junior and senior kindergarten.  Treatment was hard on her but she insisted she go to school and even continue to twirl.  Four months after finishing treatment she was on the floor competing and hasn’t stopped since.

The family quickly adopted the motto "all you need is faith, trust and pixie dust".  Ashlynne loved TinkerBell and always said that it was the pixie dust that made her better. Her family had faith and trust.  This motto continues to be true with every challenge the family continues to face.

Today, she is a childhood cancer advocate.  Her life experiences make her wiser than her years.  She loves to share her story and be an inspiration to others.

Please Support Our Journey

Did you know that only 5% of cancer research dollars is allocated to childhood cancer?

We are fundraising for IT4CC in support of Childhood Cancer Canada (CCC) and would love to be able to count on your support. Together we can further life-saving research, and help grow CCC's critical education, community and connectivity programs to children with cancer and their families.

Let's create more victories for the 10,000 kids currently battling cancer in Canada.

Thank you for giving generously.
